Château Tourbeille is an 18th century chateau located in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region, in the Gironde department of Aquitaine.
Built in the late 1700’s, the original building as early as the 1500’s, Tourbeille was erected as the river customs house because of its prime location directly on the bend of the Dordogne River, giving it stunning, secluded 180 degree views west towards St Foy and north towards the world heritage site of St Emilion.
Château Tourbeille is approached by a private driveway and the building itself is surrounded by a central, closed, classic courtyard with direct access to the event barn and entertaining spaces located in the many outbuildings, whilst retaining an intimate and private feel and sanctuary. Woods also border the property‘s 4.5 hectares of land to insure privacy, peace and quiet.
Original exposed stone walls, Girondine tiled, parquet floors, exposed beams, classic stone and marble fireplaces feature throughout.
Impressively sized reception rooms including a snooker room, library and grand dining room, lead in to a vast open plan kitchen and diner offering the perfect entertaining space for large groups or families.
With 8 large double en-suite bedrooms, the main château can sleep 16 adults and has various cots and fold out beds for babies and small children.
All the rooms have stunning river views as well as that of the surrounding land and nature.
